Re-inspections / Condition Monitoring

In accordance with the ACOP and guidance for the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, L143 Managing and working with asbestos, the Management Plan should set out how the risks from asbestos will be managed. If the material is in good condition it is usually safe to leave it in place and periodically assess it to check that it has not deteriorated or been damaged.

The frequency of inspection will depend on the location of the asbestos materials and other factors which could affect their condition, including any significant events or changes. A minimum 12 monthly inspection is recommended as part of your management plan. The process itself can be a useful audit tool, highlighting deficiencies and driving continuous improvement.

At the point of enquiry for a Reinspection, our Consultants will produce a specification for the work, taking into account the customer requirements, the quality of the existing data and any gaps which need to be addressed, such as areas listed as ‘not accessible’ in the asbestos register. The site work will then be undertaken, with additional sampling if necessary and a comprehensive report provided and any database updates.

Many of our customers use a variety of databases and online systems to store and manage their asbestos information. Santia has knowledge and experience of a large number of bespoke systems and those available on the market. We have the ability to upload, download and transfer data into any format. This flexible approach and our accreditation for Information Security also provides data protection reassurance.
