Santia launches its new Employee Recognition Scheme

Our people are at the heart of everything we do. We are excited to reward our industry leading team for their outstanding performance by launching our Employee Recognition Scheme.

Delivering our services is tough. Our people work in dangerous and challenging environments every day, whether it’s crawling through a service duct on an asbestos survey, designing a multimillion pound CDM project or managing multiple customer deadlines. We appreciate that delivering excellence in these circumstances is not easy, but despite this our team provides award winning services daily across the UK.

Whilst quality systems, accreditations and IT infrastructure are all important elements of a good business, people form the essential element that make a business great. We are so proud of the achievements of our team that we have decided to reward them by launching our very own Employee Recognition Scheme:

  • Customer Service Excellence Award – Our customers regularly take the time to write to us to name specific employees who have ‘gone the extra mile’. Each quarter, we will present a Customer Service Excellence Award to the person receiving the most nominations, and at the end of the year, the Annual Customer Service Excellence Award will be presented to the employee who had the greatest impact on customer retention and service provision.
  • Employee of the Year – Being a great employee is not just about delivering customer service independently, it’s about working effectively as part of a team. Our Company Values (Supportive, Awareness, Nurturing, Trust, Integrity and Approachable) are the qualities of some of our best people, and we want to reinforce this throughout Santia to support our culture of excellence. Line Managers and colleagues can nominate anyone who goes above and beyond expectations to fulfil our values and to be an inspiration to others. Awards will be presented to the Employee of the Quarter and Employee of the Year.
  • Length of Service Award – Consistency is really important to our customers. A designated point of contact for a client or a specific analytical team covering a long term abatement project provides added value to our customers. To recognise the loyalty and commitment of our people, Length of Service Awards will be presented to employees with a voucher for 5, 10, 15 and 20 years’ service. An enviable 5 days additional holiday will also be awarded to those celebrating their 10, 15 and 20 year service anniversaries.


Amy Jones BSc, Head of Bids and Marketing, who is championing the new scheme says:

“Our people differentiate us from the competition. Celebrating their success and rewarding them for exceeding our expectations is another reason why Santia is one of the best employers in the UK of its kind, and why our people stay with us. Santia will present Length of Service Awards to 11% of its staff this year, and by the end of 2019, nearly a quarter of our team will have received an award for 5 to 20 years’ service.

I am sure that our Employee Recognition Scheme will attract more like-minded people who share our values, care about quality and are passionate about customer service. The concept for our Employee Recognition Scheme was borne from the results of our Customer Satisfaction Survey – we wanted to give something back to our staff to thank them for delivering such a great service.

Personally, I’ve worked for Santia for 5 years this December. I wanted to gain experience of working for a national company and join a business which was big enough to offer opportunities for progression, so I joined as a Principal Consultant in 2013. I’ve always been ambitious, even after returning to work from maternity leave and juggling a career and being a parent. Santia offered me flexibility which I really value as a mother, and even though I re-joined on a part time basis initially, as the company has grown my role has evolved and I have been able to progress to a more senior position. Now I am influencing our strategy for growth over the next few years and have had the opportunity to gain new experience by leading strategic projects such as re-branding, launching a our new website and compiling winning bids to secure national contracts.
