What is NICEIC?

NICEIC is a leading Certification body accredited by UKAS. Since 1998, NICEIC has provided industry-recognised assessments to the building services sector, including plumbing and heating engineers. NICEIC provides assessment and certification services for contractors working across the building services sectors. They assess electricians, renewable energy installers, plumbers, gas and heating engineers.

What is an NICEIC Approved Contractor?

The NICEIC Approved Contractor scheme is for electrical contractors undertaking design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of electrical installations to BS 7671. As an NICEIC Approved Contractor, Santia is assessed to the highest standards covering all types of electrical work including, design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of commercial, industrial and domestic electrical installations. Santia is regularly assessed to ensure that we maintain the competency and capability to meet the relevant technical and safety standards and codes of practice we are registered to.

As an NICEIC Domestic Installer, Santia is also covered to undertake installation work in domestic properties. It is important to use a Domestic Installer to comply with the requirements of Part P, which forms part of the Building Regulations, ensuring that consistent standards are applied to the construction of buildings including its structure, fire safety, sound insulation, drainage, ventilation and electrical safety. Under Part P, Santia ensures that such works are notified to and inspected by building control bodies to ensure it complies with the Building Regulations.
